A Garden

We finally got our garden planted! I definitely don't have a green thumb, in fact I have most likely the opposite (a brown thumb maybe?) Last year we planted a garden in the spot the previous owners had as the garden. I spent probably 80.00 dollars on plants and I got maybe two or three yellow squash and some inedible cucumbers. We got new home teachers and some of you may know Bryce Hixson. He is about seven feet tall and a totally hilarious guy. (Maybe not quite seven feet, but tall)

I started to ask him some questions and he got all excited and went and picked everything up for us and brought his cute daughter over and taught us how to plant everything and where.

We have squash, pumpkins, and cucumbers behind the basketball court and peppers, tomatoes, and strawberries all along the side of the house. It looks like a strange place to plant a garden, but it is really the only place in the yard that gets sun. It was an answer to my prayers, because I really did want to follow the prophets council to plant a garden, but I was feeling like it was a waste of money. I am so excited to see how it turns out, and so thankful for someone to teach me. He even left us buckets of chicken poop to fertilize with. (Thanks:) Let's see if I can keep it alive.

Hannah thought it would be funny to get everyone wet.

I can see we are related as I have a "brown thumb" as well. I have already killed one plant and I've only had them planted for 2 weeks. I find it very frustrating because I try to take good care of them and they end up dying anyway. Oh Well! Good Luck with your garden!!

I'm so happy you got help planting your garden! How can I talk your neighbor into doing mine too? It doesn't get planted by itself...
