This week we went camping with my brother's families and Liz's dad Richard (aka Papa). We had a so much fun.
Richard took the kids on nature walks, taught them how to tell how old trees were, identify different animal tracks and poop! They fell in love with him. Hannah and Sarah especially liked singing campfire songs with him.

Look mom deer poop!
He helped Ben carve a walking stick and soon all the cousins wanted one, so he found each kid the right size and carved a handle for them.
Chad let us bring the babies back to my house at night to put down and he took care of them until morning. It made the nights so much easier.
My nephews Nate and Nick were the perfect marshmallow roasters.
It was fun to spend time with everyone in the great outdoors. Of course what would a family get together be without a little Catan.
On Thursday we got home pretty tired and by the time we cleaned up all the camping mess we ended up doing a few fireworks and watching a movie with the kids.
It turned out to be a really fun week. It made me realize how much I will miss my family if we end up moving. Right now it looks like Denver might be in our future. We'll have to see.

Camping wouldn't have been the same without you!! We had such a fun time with your family. I know that Papa was in heaven having a little following of "students." Sorry that last night didn't work out. Ashley was seriously bummed out. I think she hated Nick for puking. Poor guy!
FUN! I remember Pioneer Day! We had a ward activity (that Jas and I put on) last weekend for Pioneer Day, but it's not the same as being in Utah.
The pics look so cute, and oh how I miss that Catan...
Ummmmm, hello? Why am I out of the loop on everything? Colorado?? You need to call me once in awhile and let me know what you guys are up to, K?
I am down in SD right now and Jas just filled me in on your plans, we need to chat...
It was really a blast! I loved getting to know your children so much. It was all worth it when I could hear them repeat the things they learned and helped others learn what they'd learned.
I was grateful that you moms and dads were willing to sacrifice some sleep, endure the endless dirt and made the effort to let them enjoy the time in the mountains.
It's amazing how well they wash up.
There's got to be more of these in the future...(I do know how to make the fabled whistles. We just ran out of time.)
Papa
Isn't camping the best?!?! It's the only "vacation" that can be DIRTY and a blast at the same time! We'll have to go together some time! Hannah's hair is absolutely adorable!!! I love it!
