BEN'S BIRTHDAY

Photobucket
Ben's birthday was December 11. Since I have so much to catch up on for the month of December I decided to just blog one at a time so I am not so overwhelmed. Ben is now 11 years old. I get so sad when I look back and see how much he has grown. He is my little man! For two years it was just him and me all day long. I don't know why we ever bought him a crib because I never put him in it. I held him constantly and he even slept with us until he was two. Ben has an amazing spirit and sense of right and wrong. He listens to the Holy Ghost and follows prompting without question. He has been blessed many time because of this. He makes friends so easily. When we first moved to the neighborhood all the boys were one grade ahead of him. With that and the fact that he was new they really didn't embrace him. He would head out everyday seeing who could play and come home alone, but he never felt bad for himself, he would just try again the next day. Now he has so many friends. He is never home and if he has five minutes he is "hanging" out with his friends. He is a great big brother and loves his sisters. He is Tony's best friend. He often goes into the office after school and talks Tony into taking him skiing. They hike, bike, ski, play basketball, play video games, draw and build things together. He definately takes after Tony and wants to be an architect too. He already knows so much about structures. He can point out things that I don't even understand. At parent teacher conferences this year Ben told me on the way in that his teacher didn't like him and that he wasn't doing well. I was surprised and prepared myself for the worst. When we sat down the teacher said let me start out by telling you that if I was the parent coming in this is the report that I would want to hear. He had a nearly perfect report card and the teacher said he was one of his favorites. Ben honestly had no clue, he is very humble and tenderhearted. He is soooooo talented. He makes amazing videos and edits and renders them completely on his own. His stories are amazing and he loves drawing and designing. He is a little entrapeneur. He has a snow shoveling business going on and in the summer he is always doing something like weeding, sweeping gutters, mowing lawns. He does this without any encouragement from us. He will come to me with a wad of cash and ask me to put it in the bank for him. I could go on and on. I know that he will do amazing things with his life, and it is an honor to be his mom. I love you Ben!!

Ben, you're such a stud. You need to stick around home a little more - you're going to really miss your mom when you go on your mission (which is just around the corner...)
