CAMP FLOYD

O.k, so it seems for me that whenever I say I am going to blog everyday it actually means that I won't blog for weeks. I have been so busy with all the kids activities that the pictures are piling up on my hard drive and not finding there way to my blog. I have to go back a few weeks to Ben's fifth grade field trip to Camp Floyd. It was a cold rainy day and the bus ride took over an hour. We we got there I found out that I was stationed outside making adobe bricks with the kids. As you can imagine I wasn't too thrilled, but decided that this might be one of the last field trips that I would ever take with Ben again. He is growing up way too fast.

They started out in a little school house where they had to raise their hands to answer questions and stand next to their desks and speak politely. Wow, things have changed. They thought that was so weird. I went outside and worked with different groups making the bricks. It was FREEZING and my hands were covered in mud all day.

Looking at these pictures you can see why I battle with Ben over his hair so much. All his fifth grade friends have long hair and all his sixth grade friends have short hair. I am for the short hair, I think he will look back and laugh at how he liked his hair. He combes the sides forward in front of his ears so it looks like major sideburns and then his ears stick out in the middle. I miss the days when we used to shave it at the begining of the summer. He looked so cute!
Lunch with a bunch of 11 year old boys was a new experience. Ben opens his self made home lunch and pulls out an entire jar of peanut butter. Apparently he does this often! They all started dipping stuff into it.

I think we will be having a discussion on portion control of peanut butter, but at least he wasn't eating this

Fun times, those field trips! I have had one with each child this past week! My last one is next week to the zoo. I do love them, and I LOVE that the kids all want me to come...those days, I fear, will come to an end. (I hope not!)

Emma is on her first field trip today....they were going to the garbage dump (hehe). I've never seen Emma so excited! Unfortunately I could not volunteer for this one, but it is nice that you are able to go, enjoy it while it lasts!!
